i don't think everything needs to have a grand goal of being the best thing ever, or selling the most copies, or appealing to the most people. more things need to be made because the author/creator just wanted to make it.
i've been having a more pleasant time playing short games that are barely a few hours long but clearly were made from somewhere genuine. this is definitely an area where i'd like to contribute something to one day. this probably also ties a bit into why this site even exists.
